The Barn is a charity run by a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers. While we are gratefully partially funded by Creative Scotland, we rely on fundraising and donations to continue our important cultural and creative work. To support us, you can donate a sum of money, buy a gift voucher, or become a friend of the Barn.   • Many are surprised to learn that the Barn is a charity that receives only partial funding from local and national government. As a result, the Barn is highly reliant upon funds from its fundraising activities, and on the support of sponsors, donors and our loyal Friends to continue its work. We use a lot of the money for our educational projects, but also for things like maintenance of our building.

    Our friends literally keep the roof over our heads!

    The above rates are for payments by direct debit. Any subscriptions paid by an alternative method will be subject to a £5 supplement.

    * Concession means anyone who is claiming benefit or unemployed, in full-time education, senior citizen, disabled.

Volunteer with the Barn

Alongside our small, dedicated staff team, we're very lucky to have a great crew of volunteers working with us to keep our programme of events running smoothly and our gardens looking lovely.

Our volunteers contribute over £100,000 of in-kind hours towards the running of the Barn, and without them we wouldn't be able to offer the range and quality of activities that we do.

Fundraising Events

Our fundraising events at the Barn are crucial to our income, but are also just fun events that allow the community to come together! From quiz nights to plants sales, and our ever popular annual Hogmany and Burn's Night Ceilidhs, there's always something going on.
