The Barn is shortlisted for the Scottish Culture Awards 2017

Category Best Performing Arts Venue

The Barn is delighted to announce that they are shortlisted once again for the Scottish Culture Awards, also dubbed 'Scotland's Oscars'. 

Last year the Banchory-based multi-arts centre was also nominated in the category Best Performing Arts Venue. 

Lorraine Grant, Director of the Barn said:"It is an honour to be listed amongst so much creative talent from across the whole of Scotland and we wish all nominees the very best. We are an ambitious arts centre in rural Aberdeenshire and we are immensely proud to be recognised for our work."

Among the big names up for awards are Ewan McGregor, Liz Lochhead, James McAvoy, Karen Gillan, Douglas Henshall, Martin Compston, Morven Christie, David Tennant, Ewen Bremner, Karine Polwart, and Shirley Henderson. Scottish Ballet, the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Celtic Connections, Aye Write literary festival and Scottish Opera are also nominated.

The Sunday Herald Culture Awards will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Glasgow’s art and music venue, SWG3.
