Established by the local community in 1994, the Barn has grown to become Aberdeenshire's only multi-arts venue, providing performances, screenings, exhibitions, workshops and events all year round.

We have a well-equipped theatre with sprung dance floor and live streaming facilities (capacity 350 standing/250 seated), a contemporary art gallery/workshop space, bar/social area, craft & design retail spaces, and offices for regional arts organisations sound festival and North East Arts Touring (NEAT).

As well as our performance and gallery spaces we have a Wild Garden behind the Barn for the community to enjoy and some walking paths around our wider site. There are also two fields with over a hundred community allotments, that form part of the Barn's commitment to connecting people creatively with the environment.

An organic bistro (run by neighbouring independent business Buchanan Food) enhance the Barn’s position as a day-to-night visitor destination.
