If you’re an experienced Volunteer Coordinator seeking a role with real scope to further develop and embed a volunteering culture, we’d like to hear from you.
The Barn, located in Banchory, is Aberdeenshire’s largest multi-arts venue offering a range of high quality live performances, cinema, exhibitions, workshops, outreach and training projects.
At the Barn we all care passionately about the work we do regardless of the roles we play. Founded by volunteers in 1994 the Barn has a rich heritage of community support. The core team of full and part-time staff is supported by volunteers who work throughout the organisation. By joining the Barn at this time, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the long term success of the organisation, administrating the volunteer journey for those joining and giving to the Barn and ensuring our volunteer experience continues to be an exceptional and rewarding one.
We have ambitious plans to significantly grow volunteer numbers and participation to help improve the quality of experience for everyone who engages with the Barn. Supported by the Barn team, you will quickly build on the good work we already do, coordinating and promoting the Barn’s volunteering programme, generating appropriate volunteering opportunities and recruiting and motivating volunteers to get involved in a range of exciting roles across our organisation.
As a key member of the team, you will help the Barn develop and grow our volunteer offering, enabling our activities to have greater reach and impact across our community. You will be the primary liaison to the volunteer base, staff and Board facilitating good lines of communication between all.
Passionate and enthusiastic, strategically minded and delivery focused, a natural communicator with strong influencing and mentoring skills, these are just some of the qualities we’re looking for.
This role, predominantly venue-based, is on the outskirts of Banchory and is easily commutable from Aberdeen and surrounding towns. Evening and weekend work may be involved so some flexibility is required. This is a 3-month temporary contract and is intended to be made permanent dependent on funding.
If this sounds like you, please contact us. You will be rewarded with a fun, varied and creative working environment!
Please submit an up to date CV and cover letter outlining your professional experience and suitability for the post, making specific reference to the job requirements and criteria. Please include contact information for two professional referees.
The closing date for receipt of CVs is Monday 17 February 2020 at 5pm with the date set for interviews on Wednesday 26 February 2020.
