We are hiring! Craft Development Manager

Closing Date - Midnight Sunday 23 September

We are currently looking to recruit a highly dynamic, creative and experienced Craft Development Manager.

The Barn in Banchory is Aberdeenshire’s leading multi-arts venue with a vibrant creative programme that attracts over 20,000 visitors a year. Over the last three years the venue has built a national reputation for the support and promotion of contemporary craft and design, by providing a range of professional mentoring programmes, the creation of a small retail area and delivering the North East of Scotland’s largest Craft and Design fair, “flock”, which features over 40 makers from across Scotland every November.

Having recently secured a package of European and local funding, the Barn is entering an exciting stage in our capital expansion plan as we take forward the redevelopment of some vacant properties on site, including the creation of a brand new dedicated craft and design pop-up shop/ workshop space, which is scheduled to open to the public in Spring 2019.

We are currently looking to recruit a highly dynamic, creative and experienced Craft Development Manager to lead our retail, commissioning and public engagement work in this field.

If the prospect of creating and developing a showcase space for Scotland’s makers within a thriving cultural venue in a beautiful rural setting appeals to you, and you have the experience, passion and professional knowledge we are looking for, then we would love to hear from you.

Applicants should submit an up to date c.v., two references and accompanying letter of application, clearly relating your professional experience to the Essential Criteria and the main duties of the role as stated in the job outline. Please also include a note of your current/most recent salary.

Applications should be submitted to mail@thebarnarts.co.uk or posted to The Barn, Burn o’ Bennie, Banchory, Aberdeenshire AB31 5QA and marked “Craft Development”.

The deadline for applications is Midnight Sunday 23 September.

No late applications will be accepted

Interviews are scheduled to take place at the Barn Friday 12 October
