PART-TIME CARETAKER/GROUNDSPERSON (MULTI-ARTS VENUE)
Approximately 16 hours per week
SALARY: £10.75 per hour
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Caretaker/Groundsperson to undertake caretaker services at the Barn, Aberdeenshire’s largest multi-arts venue offering a range of high quality live performances, cinema, exhibitions, workshops, outreach and training projects.
To accommodate the Barn’s varied programme, the position will require the post holder to work flexibly during the week and at weekends.
The Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for both visitors and performers at Barn, assisting with the setup and breakdown of public events, workshops, exhibitions and private hires, and serving as a main key-holder for the premises.
The post holder has the responsibility to continuously adhere to the Health & Safety practices and the policies of the Barn.
The post holder will also play a key role in the maintenance of our outdoor spaces including our Wild and Walled Gardens.
We would be particularly interested in applicants who have at least one year’s experience of caretaking/groundsperson duties and managing/mentoring volunteers.

TECHNICAL MANAGER (MULTI-ARTS VENUE)
Approximately 37.5 hours per month
SALARY: £17.00 per hour
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Technical Manager to undertake technical services at the Barn, Aberdeenshire’s largest multi-arts venue offering a range of high quality live performances, cinema, exhibitions, workshops, outreach and training projects.
The post-holder is responsible for providing technical support to all visiting companies, artists, groups and individuals in the presentation of the artistic programme at the Barn.
The main focus of this role is ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the Barn’s events including film projection as well as overseeing maintenance of the technical facilities including PAT testing.
This is a skilled management role within a busy team, requiring team and volunteer supervision and close working with colleagues in FOH, Marketing, and Artistic Programming as well as external liaison with our programme partners and service providers.
The post-holder is also responsible for facilitating the technical management and organisation of hires and special events including commercial and non-commercial users.
The post-holder is required to liaise and communicate with all incoming artists, companies and groups and to plan a technical schedule ensuring that sufficient resources are in place.
The Barn relies on volunteers to assist a very small team in achieving our aim of being a world-class arts and learning organisation and you will be responsible for training and mentoring volunteer projectionists.
To accommodate the Barn’s varied programme, the position will require the post holder to work flexibly during the week and at weekends.
The post holder has the responsibility to continuously adhere to the Health & Safety practices and the policies of the Barn. The role involves occasional manual handling and lifting and occasional working at height.
You will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with experience of dealing with people in a front-line customer care environment.

EVENT STAFF - PART-TIME (MULTI-ARTS VENUE)
Salary: £9.50 - 10.25 per hour
To ensure the highest standards of welcome, presentation and safety are provided and to ensure the smooth operation of a show/event/hire giving audiences, performers, artists and hirers a great experience.
The post-holder will work within a small multi-disciplinary team where a positive approach to team working is vital. The Barn’s operations are supported by a large team of volunteers, and the Event Staff will work alongside these volunteers. On occasion the event staff will take on Duty Manager and/or bar responsibilities.
The post-holders will need to demonstrate excellent communication and strong customer service skills whilst knowledge of Box Office ticketing systems and the hospitality sector will be an advantage.

EXPERIENCED PART-TIME BAR STAFF REQUIRED (MULTI-ARTS VENUE)
SALARY: £9.50 - £10 per hour
We are recruiting for Bar staff to join our team, working a variety of shifts on evenings and at weekends.
The successful Bar Staff candidates must:
· be able to establish rapport with customers and deliver high standards of service
· be approachable and enthusiastic and show genuine commitment to the job, team and Barn volunteers
· be reliable and organised with a great eye for detail and experience of serving large numbers of customers at large functions & events
· be able to communicate with confidence, with a good level of conversational English

Although further training will be given, the required experience includes:

· ability to work unsupervised
· providing a professional, friendly and courteous service to all customers
· bar cleanliness and good housekeeping procedures
· demonstrated flexibility working in quiet or fast paced environments
