Our brand new exhibition Slow Motion is open to the public: an absolute stunning selection of artworks published by Peacock Print Studio between 2010 and 2016. If you like contemporary printmaking, some bold colours, abstract works or just appreciate seeing lots of high quality artworks together in one show, don’t miss it. It is a feast for the eyes.
It is the first time the Barn works together on an art exhibition with Peacock Visual Arts and “a programming partnership with Peacock Visual Arts felt a very timely conversation for the Barn’s gallery committee to pursue this year,” says Barn Director Lorraine Grant in an interview with the Scottish Herald (Saturday 18 Feb 2017). Both organisations are running under relatively new directorship (Lorraine is Director of the Barn since two years, Nuno Sacramento took over as Peacock’s Director only at the start of 2017) and aim to support the best artists from across the UK to make work in the North East of Scotland. (read the full article in the Herald here).
Artists represented in this print exhibition include Claire Barclay, John Byrne, Mike Giant, Tom Hammick, Kenny Hunter, Janice Kerbel, Scott Myles, David Noonan, Toby Paterson, Ralph Steadman, Donald Urquhart and Frances Walker alongside many others. There will also be a series of workshops, from Relief Printing to a Family Fun Day and talks. Slow Motion opens this Thursday 23 February 6-8pm (you are all welcome at the Preview night!).
The exhibition runs from 24 February until 8 April. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday 12noon-4pm.
