After a year of fundraising for exciting new development plans work is now well underway on some much needed improvements to the Barn. As well as serving the cultural needs of the local community the Barn plays a key role in the cultural life of Aberdeenshire as a whole and increasingly is recognised for its work in arts, contemporary craft and ecology.
The Barn is closed to the public during January – March 2019 to allow for building works on a new reception area and foyer and on the development of the adjoining sheds to create a new bespoke retail craft space to support more artists and creative businesses to work on-site, share skills and sell their products.
These improvements will help the Barn both increase its profile as a tourist destination and help to generate new income streams to help the Barn to survive into the future and continue to programme a wide variety of performances and events in the community.
If you can donate in any way to help secure and build on the Barn’s future it would be much appreciated, visit: www.thebarnarts.co.uk/support
The main Box Office will reopen to the public at 12 noon on Tuesday 12 March but works will be continuing around the site until the launch of our new craft store in early Summer 2019.
News of forthcoming shows and events - which include a brand new children’s arts festival “Bloom” - are on the website now! www.thebarnarts.co.uk
